An unforgettable weekend in San Francisco, CA

Updated: Nov 29, 2019

Home to a little bit of everything, San Francisco is the 4th most populous city in California (according to the World Population Review). A cultural and financial center, the city is very cosmopolitan.

I had the pleasure of visiting the city for a weekend and I can say that it has a special place in my heart. Although, it was a short trip I managed to visit most of the famous places in the city. The most difficult part if you go there for the weekend is to decide which places to go to. That's why I have compiled suggestions for you definitely worth visiting!

Golden Gate Bridge

Oh, the bridge...The most photographed attraction in the city is the amazing Golden Gate Bridge. It is a must see as the view is amazing. You can walk, run, ride a bicycle and enjoy the nature surrounding it. Although, it was foggy when I was there, I was still able to take a glance of the bridge. The view was breathtaking. I was walking from Fisherman's Wharf to Marina Green and Fort Mason and I was able to see the high points of the bridge were the fog was not that dense. Still, it was amazing!

Financial District

Home to numerous headquarters, the financial district is full of interesting skyscrapers that dominate the skyline. During weekends, the area is desolate from business people but packed with tourists. You can take a walk or eat in one of the numerous restaurants there.

Fisherman's Wharf

One of the city's most famous attractions, the Fisherman's Wharf is definitely the best place to visit. There are many restaurants, shops and attractions. From there, you can take a glance of Alcatraz island, the notorious penitentiary - one of America's most infamous prisons. What is more, from there you can take the famous cable car which goes to the main tourist attractions and famous streets - Lombard Street, China Town and Ghirardelli Square.

Are you planning a trip to USA? Or do you live there? San Francisco is a must see city! Yes, it is a little bit expensive but if you spend a weekend there it won't cost that much. There are many places to visit so you won't get bored. Here are some of the photos I have made! Enjoy!
